"Corporate Meltdown" photoshoot with Sonia, Ottawa, Ontario, 10 Jun 2012.
This was my first photoshoot of 2012, and my first in 6 months. Yes 2012 did not get off to a rocking start..., blame the day job, I guess. :)
This was also one of my first theme-driven photoshoots, with business wear in a glamorous style with a hint of pin-up. I also just recently picked up a used vintage bicycle specifically for photoshoots, and adding some commute vignettes to the theme seemed a perfect fit.
Sonia was was prepped early in the morning by the ever-talented makeup artist Caroline, who apparently relished the theme judging from the intense eye lashes she applied. We then hit a local university campus as our corporate setting, with Sonia enthusiastic and well-prepared as always with 2 or 3 bags of wardrobe from which to choose.
Most of our shooting was spent outdoors on the bicycle and other vignettes. Being a bit rusty, and still adapting to the new camera, I fell behind schedule and therefore didn't get as much coverage of the indoor vignettes as I had intended. Trying to make enough variety to cover an entire shoot with a single wardrobe outfit is definitely challenging, but I'm very happy with the results. I believe I achieved the seductive flavour that I had imagined for the shoot, although much of the credit for that must go to the lovely and crazy-fit Sonia.
As has become my primary style, all images here were shot with available light, supplemented by reflectors.
